In between painting I've also been working on my other beast...
I was feeling daring with him! I filed down most of the original Shaggoth face and then cut the Defiler face to a more suitable shape. Sculpted the hair to make the transition from the helmet to the rest of the mini seem less drastic. What do you think? I'm far from a scholar of the greenstuff arts but does it look passable so far?
Still got lots to do on him yet!

That is a really imposing model - I really like what you've done with it so far. I think the defiler mask turned out pretty well, perhaps it needs a bit more definition between helmet and hair (though that could just be the angle of the pic).
Looking forward to seeing how it comes together - cool stuff!
I have been nattering with the lads about doing something like this for ages - I wanted to represent Kolek, but was put off by having to go at the head with the clippers/saws/files.
Wow - you actually did it. Initial impression is Jason Vorhees. I love the change to the axe - bit more beastial.
Looking forward to updates.
Looking good so far, like all the changes from weapon to mask! But where is the crown hiding?
Keep it up, looking forward to next update on this beast!
Thanks guys. Glad you like it so far. Still got lots and lots to do to him. Including finishing the hair, and making a trophy of King Arnaldo's Crown! Busy, busy, busy!
